Honest bounds. Not marketing fine print.
If you're unsure whether you can use one, read this carefully. We'd rather you postpone a rental than have a bad day on the mountain.
User weight
45 to 110 kg. Heavier or lighter than that, talk to us first.
User height
150-195 cm fits all units. Outside that range, we have one custom-sized rental at the Lugano shop.
Age
14+ on standard models. Under 14 only with a parent and our written approval.
Weather
Clear or light rain. We pull rentals during heavy rain or thunderstorms above 1,500 m.
Terrain
All marked Swiss alpine trails. Not glaciers, not via ferrata, not technical scrambling.
Battery & water
IP54 minimum. Stream crossings up to mid-calf are fine. Submersion is not.
Talk to your doctor first if you have...
- An active hip or knee replacement under 6 months old
- Severe spinal stenosis or recent spinal surgery
- Pacemaker or implanted defibrillator (the unit's motors are well-shielded, but caution is right)
- Unstable balance / fall history
- Severe peripheral neuropathy
