First-time renter

Your first hour with an exoskeleton.

What to bring, what to expect, and what to do if anything goes sideways. Read this once and you'll feel like a regular by the time you reach the shop.

What to bring
  • Hiking shoes (boots or trail runners, not sandals)
  • Long hiking pants (struts sit better over fabric)
  • A daypack for your jacket / water
  • Sunglasses, sun cream, water
  • Photo ID for the rental agreement
Fitting (~10 minutes)
  1. Hip belt sized to your iliac crest (top of your hip bone)
  2. Thigh cuffs at mid-thigh, snug not tight
  3. App pairing and assist-level test on a flat 20 m walk
  4. One short stair test in the shop
  5. Final adjustment, off you go

The first 10 minutes on the trail

The very first stride feels strange. Your hips lift faster than you expect them to, and most people slightly over-stride for thirty seconds. Slow down. Breathe. By the second minute, your gait recalibrates and you stop noticing the extra power. It just feels like a tailwind.

If something doesn't feel right

Stop. Use the side button to go to "off" mode. The unit becomes passive and you walk normally. If the issue is fit, adjust at the next bench. If the issue is mechanical, call our trail support line. The number is on a card inside the hip belt. We'll either talk you through it or arrange pickup at the nearest cable car station.

The end of the day

Drop the unit back at the shop. The battery doesn't need to be charged. We handle that. Leave a quick two-minute review of the model you tried; we email you a 20% off code for your next rental.
